Smedley Family Scholarship: Established in 2001 by Dr. Audrey Y. Smedley in honor of her parents. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage serious study and research and to support qualified students who have an interest in Africa and/or the African-American experience. The award will be given to a full-time undergraduate student in the African American Studies Program and will be based on merit. The recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA and not be engaged in full-time employment off-campus. The scholarship may be renewed as long as the student remains in good academic standing. Amount: As determined by VCU Foundation distribution policy. African American Alumni Council Scholarships: The AAAC offers three scholarships: The AAAC Leadership Scholarship; the AAAC Freshman Merit Scholarship; and the AAAC Executive Scholarship.
